Over halfway through February . . .

As expected, I'm spending the first half of the month still recovering from the bulls#!t that is Covid. On the bright side, it's given me plenty of time to rest and read. Unfortunately, this means I'm getting little else done. Not good when I'm hoping to publish Sadie and Declan's story this spring. It also doesn't help that ten chapters into an intense editing cycle I was up at three am struggling to jot down a new story idea before it flitted out of my brain.
Yeah, this is me this past week . . .

But enough about my writing woes . . . What have I been reading???

As you might have guessed, the first of my resolutions has been broken. It was just plain dumb to think I could keep from blitzing favorite authors. @AuthorElsie is to blame. Once I found out Powerless was due out this month, there was no holding me back. Love all the Eatons!
I began the month with one of Elsie Silvers earlier works and was pleasantly surprised to find they tie in with the Chestnut Springs series. Book two is Violet Eaton's story and will most likely be my third Elsie Silver read this month.
Speaking of series . . . I wrapped up BK Borison's Lovelight Farms trilogy and absolutely loved Layla and Caleb's fake dating story.
Fake dating may be the theme of the month. Take a Hint, Dani Brown is the second in the Brown sister trilogy and so far, it's my favorite. I love me a man who's in tune with his feelings and not afraid to admit he reads romance novels. <3 Zafir!
Rivers of London is a reread in the hope of continuing with the series. I really admire Ben Aaronovich and his use of diversified characters in fantasy. Also, to anyone else who's read it, do you picture Rege-Jean Page in the main role?
Erin Hahn is a new-to-me author, and I adored Built to Last. Happily, she already responded to my question asking if we would be seeing more of the characters introduced in this book and I can report that the answer is YES! Lorelei's story is coming in October.
While Park Avenue Player is not my first Vi Keeland, it is the first co-written with Penelope Ward. It did not disappoint. In fact, I now list it as my second favorite Keeland book. Not only will I be reading more of this duo (Cocky Bastard is already waiting in my queue) but I'll also be adding some of Penelope Ward's books to my mix in the near future.
When the lowest rated book is 3.25 stars you know I'm having a good month. Reverse harems are my guilty pleasure and Lily Gold did not disappoint.
So that's my month so far . . . Fair warning, things will begin to slow down soon reading-wise. First spring training game of the season is in ten days. Once baseball season begins, listening to audiobooks at night while crafting will go by the wayside. Plus, I have big plans for the end of March. But more about that later . . .
Cheers,
CJ
